This complete, original disbound newspaper is near fine condition with light foxing and vertical and horizontal center creases. Long report, largely conceded to be authored solely by Adams, on the Smithsonian bequest and the foundation of the Smithsonian Institution. The length of this report is approximately 142 column inches. It consumes approximately one-third of this four-age issue. Franklin speech following Adams' report analyzes the main points made in the report and takes issue with many of Adams conclusions.
